Austin, TX – The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (“ICIC”) named Amerisource Funding, Inc. to its prestigious “Texas Inner City 10” list, which recognizes “Excellence in Urban Business”. In a ceremony at Austin City Hall, Mayor Will Wynn and ICIC senior vice president Manjari Raman presented the award to Amerisource. The event was sponsored by Banc of America Capital and the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
“Led by some of today’s most creative entrepreneurs, the Inner City 100 has shown the nation how the advantages of inner cities, such as diverse workforces and strategic locations, can combine to create explosive growth,” said David G. Latimore, president and CEO of ICIC. “Their success has led to innovative investment programs, they’ve helped blaze a path for others, and they’re providing enormous stimulus for change in their communities. We’re thrilled to be celebrating the companies that bring growth to inner cities in the Lone Star State.”
“It’s really exciting to be named to this list.” said D. Michael Monk, managing director of Amerisource. “There are a lot of really great companies in Texas, so it’s truly an honor to have been selected. It’s a real tribute to all our stakeholders – employees, investors, clients, and business associates – who have made our success possible. We’re all thrilled!”
“As Mayor of Austin, I’m proud that so many homegrown entrepreneurs are contributing to the city’s sustainability and success.” said Mayor Will Wynn.
